What comes to mind when you hear the word fantasy? A castle? Perhaps moonlight? Well, what comes to my mind is a fantasy wedding. You know, like one of those weddings you hear about and you can’t help but go “Aw!”? Those ones. Complete with the perfect wedding gown, of course!

This week we are looking at one of the more fun trends of the season: florals! Now, we all know florals derive from flowers, and let’s face it- who doesn’t love flowers? I am in absolute awe of dresses with flowers in a silhouette, or perhaps some doily ones, or even a gown that has a flower-esque feel to it… anything that reminds me flowers, I’m down! I have always loved the whimsical feel of gowns like these. There’s just something so timeless about them. They’re airy, light, girly and absolutely fabulous.

Riddle: What has clean lines, structure and is as sleek as they come? No, not an SUV. Rather, a dress. A wedding dress, I should say. That’s right- the dress. Brides-to-be all over the world yearn for rocking a classy but sexy wedding gown for their special day. Have no fear, ladies, you’re in the right hands!

If there is one thing we love in a wedding ensemble, it’s structure. The sleekness, the fabrics, the simplicity… oh my. The look is very chic, very modern, very clean cut. We’re past the tulle skirt faze. It’s time for something a little different. Weddings need a more clean, sophisticated groove. Let the chicness shine through!

Why do we love this particular trend? Got a week? Just kidding. In all honesty, what’s not to love? I think that every girl can appreciate a posh dress. There’s just something about the elegance and the regalness of clean, straight lining on a beautiful wedding dress. That’s something you don’t see everyday. Often brides get swept up in the glamorous ways of a gown that they forget about the magic of simplicity. Less is more, ladies.

Miss the Golden Globes last night? Well you didn’t miss much as far as the ceremony goes;  all the real action took place outside on the red carpet, as Hollywood’s elite showed off their finest couture threads.  Red carpet staples like Dior and Versace were abundant, but plenty of starlets went for some of our favorite bridal designers, including Marchesa, Tadashi Shoji, Reem Acra and Jenny Packman. Lounge areas can work for any wedding, whether you’re going for a night club feel or a breezy outdoors area.  Here are some tips to creating a stunning wedding lounge (hint — it’s not as expensive as it looks!):

• Add draping to your reception space.  Most rental companies charge between $1.50 and $5 a foot.
• Use uplights to enhance the mood with your wedding colors.  Most par cans can be purchased or rented for $15-$20 per light, and different color gels can be used to customize the hue.
• Use candles — and lots of them!  Even without lighting, candles can add a similar ambiance.
• Pillows and throw rugs are a great way to add pops of color to all white lounges, and give them a homey feel.
• Don’t forget the decor!  Florals and figurines help to enhance your theme.

Fringe has been a hot trend for some time now. From the runways to street-bloggers, fringe has been spotted on fashionistas everywhere, and it seems to be here to stay. Incorporating the tasseled accoutrements into your wedding is an easy way to up the style ante on your big day, and can be quite cost-effective if you’re on a budget. All you need is a sharp pair of scissors and some colorful paper from the craft store to fringe anything from your invitations to your table settings. Entire venues can be transformed with fringed streamers. Using fringe as a theme for your wedding is the perfect way to ensure that you and your guests will always remember your creative and original event.
