Everyone needs a bit of inspiration. You’ve come to the right place. Here’s another fabulous round of our inspirational, board. This week, we’re summer lovin’ and have kicked off out Hunters and threw on those wedges – the two colours in crime are coral and turquoise. Such happy colours. Friendly colours, too. Remember in You’ve Got Mail when Kathleen says that daisies are her favourite flower because they’re the friendliest? That’s how we feel about these two colours. Pat on the back, Miss. Kelly. Pat on the back indeed.

Whoever said that cake was the only way to go can eat crow.  Not only did that rhyme, but it is very, very true. We have discovered a miracle in the works. You know the part in the evening where everyone crowds around the bride and groom slicing into their marriage masterpiece, while we all “ooh” and “aah” while they lick frosting off each other’s hands? Well. Let’s switch things up a bit, shall we? Picture this. A waiter (in a decked out tuxedo) brings around an array of dessert- which include cupcakes, macarons, popsicles, croquembouches, dessert cups, cake pops… all wedding inspired. You take a look at the assortment. Maybe sneak a taste when the waiter’s back is turned. Then you pluck “the chosen one” from the tray. It’s a wedding inspired cupcake. You bite into it. You drool a little. It’s all yours.

This is a night to remember, people. And dessert is a huge part of it. Forget the big wedding cake. Dip your toes into frosting, icing, sprinkles… treats that will satisfy your heart’s desire. Outstanding.

What’s the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of yellow? Is it sunshine? Daisies? Lemons? Or is it the thought that it would make a perfect wedding colour scheme?

What about grey? Cloudy? Clouds? (…) Pebbles? Or is it the thought that it would make a perfect colour scheme? Dreamers, open your eyes. These two colours are very different- the colour yellow is happy, cheerful, joyous. Grey is drab, dull, weary. Add those two together and bam! You have not only a sophisticated colour scheme for your fabulous wedding, but you also have gotten rid of grey’s bad rep. It’s a win win, my friends. I think it is safe to say we are obsessed with this year’s New York Fashion Week. I mean, how could you not be? There are lights. There are cameras. There are pretty models with cheekbones that could cut. There are absolutely gorgeous pieces of clothing that makes you want to live vicariously through the designers.It’s a great thing, Fashion Week. It’s a marvelous thing.

Speaking of marvelous things, how about mixing two of them together for ultimate fabulousness? I’m talking about picking a bridesmaids dress… from the catwalk. Elie Saab, Dior, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors… designers like these are practically begging you to take a peek at their collection. They’ve all made a name for themselves in the industry (that sentence being an understatement), and although it is not done often… grab a friend and see if you can find your perfect bridesmaids dresses! The only thing I would worry about is if you outshine the bride. That’s not cool.

Last week’s post had about a dozen delicious statement shoes. This week we’re going more simple, classic. Fashion.

Paris Fashion Week. 2012. Down this runway audience members are prepared for anybody who’s anybody to flaunt their hottest collections. It is eye candy to the maximum with these designers. Alexander McQueen, Christian Dior, Givenchy and Elie Saab do not mess around. They mean business. If by business means making thousands of fashionistas gawk and hundreds of audience members collectively gasp.

All these chosen designers were hand picked to feature for one reason. They are all opulent. Glamorous. Delicate. Outspoken but not ostentatious. You can see all the hard work that the designers have put into their pieces; their heart and soul have been put to use when on the sewing machine

I know it’s tempting to completely go gaga over these gorgeous pieces here. But here’s a challenge for you: focus on the feet. This week we are all about the three little piggies who are decked out in stunning attire. You got some Alexander McQueen, Givenchy, Dior, Zac Posen and Elie Saab for your heart’s desire. Opulent. Regent. Glamorous. All five designers are very different, but they do have one thing in common- the ability to dazzle. Take a second to really examine the design, the intricacy in the heel; after a while, you won’t even notice the attire. Picking favourites seem cruel, conniving… but I do have to give a pat on the back to Mr. McQueen over there. Never once have I expected the same thing twice and my eyes are never ever bored. Hats off to you, you’ve done it again!

The question of the day is: who doesn’t love the colours of nude and purple? The answer: No one, that’s who. Nude is an easy choice- it’s flattering; whether it’s a dress or a pump, it goes with everything; literally everything, and it is never out of style; ever!

Purple is divine. Prestigious. Sleek. All the things you’d want for a potential wedding theme. Add these two beauties together and voila! Magic.

That’s right- this blog post is about cake. Scrumptious, filling, decadent wedding cakes that are the cherry on top (pun intended) of a perfect wedding. Everyone knows that the best food at a wedding is found at  the dessert table! Also, brides and grooms have gotten quite creative with their wedding cakes- some look too p

retty to slice! I have always had such high respects for bakers and cake makers- those who make a living off of designing and creating stunning and absolute yummy in my tummy cakes!

A plain, white cake with plain white frosting is so last century. Right now, we are all about the details. Does your cake have a portrait of the couple on it? (True story, I’ve seen it with my own eyes! It lit up too!) Does it have florals galore? Does it make you want to put your piece back and saran wrap it- to stare at it for a decade or so on your mantle piece? These cakes will win you over. Below are some of the most fragile and decadent cakes I have ever seen. I had to physically stop myself from grabbing a fork and reaching for my desktop. I am no where near getting married, but I’m thinking of buying one of these bad boys… just for the heck of it!

Some of my favourite cakes are ones that look fake. Like they are made of plasticine or crafted on a wood shop table. Ones that make you want to reach out and touch it with your pinky finger to make sure that indeed, it is edible! Well, all you hungry gals and lads out there- take a bite (not literally!) of these pictures! They will have you looking for a tissue because I assure you- you will be drooling all over your seat.

Okay, maybe only I say that. But I stand by that statement- it’s true! Last times’ blog post was floral fantasy wedding gowns, this weeks’ is the same theme- only for wedding decor. What more could you ask for? For all the brides and grooms to be out there, listen up: florals are in. Whether its an invitation, centerpiece, or even a napkin ring, make sure to include some floral goodness in your special day! One of my absolute favourite floral decoration is the napkin holder- so functional but stunning at the same time. I am also loving the floral seal- just a  gorgeous little touch to send a love letter! The invitations are also a kick; it definitely invites you to come and celebrate a wedding you won’t want to miss!

What comes to mind when you hear the word fantasy? A castle? Perhaps moonlight? Well, what comes to my mind is a fantasy wedding. You know, like one of those weddings you hear about and you can’t help but go “Aw!”? Those ones. Complete with the perfect wedding gown, of course!

This week we are looking at one of the more fun trends of the season: florals! Now, we all know florals derive from flowers, and let’s face it- who doesn’t love flowers? I am in absolute awe of dresses with flowers in a silhouette, or perhaps some doily ones, or even a gown that has a flower-esque feel to it… anything that reminds me flowers, I’m down! I have always loved the whimsical feel of gowns like these. There’s just something so timeless about them. They’re airy, light, girly and absolutely fabulous.
